Munich, 2014/06/26 – International Research Institutes (IRIS), the world's biggest and best-known association of independent market research institutes, is expanding its network to Japan and Austria so that it now comprises around 1,500 employees in 34 countries. This expansion has been vigorously promoted by Vocatus board member Hardy C. Koth, who is also President of the IRIS Council. Vocatus is the network's exclusive partner in Germany.
Two new partners were welcomed into the market research network at the IRIS Spring Meeting which took place in Dubai in mid-April: Sugata Research from Japan and the Austrian institute Market Marktforschungs GmbH. Both companies are among the leading full-service market research institutes in their respective countries, and had previously passed the strict qualifying tests and personal audit with flying colours.
Sugata Research in Japan offers a broad mix of methods focussing on qualitative market research, including ethnographies / so-called online or mobile moblographies, co-creation, idea workshops, focus groups, and 'in-store encounters'. Its clients include a number of global brands from the FMCG, IT, and pharma sectors. All its Project Managers are bilingual, and are perfectly at home in Japanese culture as well as the global marketing community. Sugata also has its own fieldwork team as well as a panel of opinion leaders.
Market Marktforschungs GmbH is one of the three leading market research institutes in Austria; for example, it supplies Der Standard (national daily) and ORF (TV channel) with the results of surveys into current political and social sciences topics. Its broad experience of the retail, industry, and services sectors also allows comprehensive benchmarking in the studies it conducts for its clients, as well as internal and external sectoral comparisons. This is rounded off by the fact that it has its own online panel and fieldwork team.
International Research Networks (IRIS) always selects a leading national (independent) market research institute to exclusively represent its respective country. This means the network is able to make use of local expertise which in turn benefits clients who are conducting international market research projects. All its members comply with the same quality standards, and are equally demanding when it comes to professionalism and innovation.
This expansion means the IRIS Network now employs around 1,500 employees in 34 countries, and generates a total annual turnover of more than 170 million euros. Besides Vocatus in Germany, the network comprises institutes in Egypt, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Canada, Columbia, South Korea, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, and the USA.
